Hey Loves!

Today I wanted to talk about the new Milani eyeshadow palettes that have recently been released. To be quite honest, I haven’t found palettes from the drugstore that I have been incredibly impressed with. When I was at Walmart about two weeks ago, these palettes really caught my eye and I decided to pick them up. There are four palettes in the range and I picked up two of them. They retail for about $13.00 CAD. After playing around with them for some time, I decided it was time to do a review and let you know if they are worth buying!

L-R: Earthy Elements, Bare Necessities

Packaging: The packaging is what really caught my eye- anything in gold casing, I NEED to have. The palette seems pretty sturdy although it is made out of plastic. I really like how the eyeshadows are displayed. Each palette provides transition shades, highlight shades, and lid shades to create the perfect eye look.

Pigmentation: Some of these shadows were very pigmented, whereas others lacked tremendously. The palette on the left (earthy elements) caught my eye because of the beautiful orange shade. I was hoping the matte shadows were going to be extremely pigmented. I know that matte shadows are harder to formulate, but these palettes looked very promising. The palette on the left had more pigment for the shimmery shadows and the matte shadows lacked in pigment. The most disappointing colour was the large champagne coloured shadow- it was straight up chunky glitter. Moving onto the palette on the right (bare necessities), the shimmery shades were spot on. The large champagne colour in this palette was extremely pigmented and I even used it as a highlighter one day…it was AMAZING. Overall, the shimmery shadows are extremely pigmented, whereas the matte shadows lack pigmentation.

Formula:  The formula of these shadows vary. Some shadows are very smooth and buttery, whereas others are on the dryer side. The shimmery shades apply very evenly and are a lot smoother than the matte shades. The matte shades are somewhat difficult to blend and they do feel a little chalky.

(I had to build up some of the matte shades- they were not all this pigmented with one swipe)

  • Shimmery shades are smooth and pigmented
  • Great shade range
  • Can create multiple looks with these shadows

  • Matte shades are not as pigmented and some shades feel a little bit dry
  • Matte shades are not very blendable

I hope you guys enjoyed this review! until next time…

Hey Loves!

As you may or may not know, I am a total sucker for liquid lipsticks. Whenever a brand launches a line of liquid lipsticks, I’m all over it. Although these are not brand new, we are going to be talking about the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks. I have two of the older shades to talk about, and one brand new shade.

L-R: Patina, Caramello, Bellisima

Packaging: I love the packaging on these liquid lipsticks. Patina and Bellisima are both older shades, and therefore have the plain black cap with black writing on the tube. Caramello is a newer shade, and now the packaging has a gold cap and gold writing (which I think is SO much cuter). These liquid lipsticks have a flexible doe foot applicator which helps distribute the product evenly.

Formula: The formula on these liquid lipsticks are amazing. They feel like they are slightly mousey, however have a thinner consistency. They are extremely comfortable on the lips. Although they do dry matte, they are not drying at all which is a big plus! The smallest amount of product goes a long way. I only have to dip the wand in the liquid lipstick once and it deposits enough product to both my bottom and top lip.

Pigmentation/Longevity: These liquid lipsticks are extremely pigmented. One swipe deposits the right amount of colour. Although these liquid lipsticks claim to “stay all day,” I will have to disagree. These liquid lipsticks do last a long time on the lips, however I do need to reapply them throughout the day especially if I’m eating or drinking.

L-R: Caramello, Belissima, Patina

  • Beautiful colour selection
  • Flexible wand for even application
  • Does not feel drying on the lips
  • Very pigmented
  • Does not crust off or start to look patchy

  • Does need to be reapplied throughout the day

I hope you guys enjoyed this review! Until next time…
